BUCKLEY AGAIN IS DISTORTING & LYING ABOUT EVENTS! The Head Custodian was absent the day she broke the Collective Agreement by doing a custodian's job. She explained it to Fisher when he showed up for work. Buckley used the Collective Agreement against Fisher when she said that he could not work through his breaks according to the agreement, then she ignors it at her whim. She operates with two sets of rules one for her and a second for others.

Buckley removed from the custodian room a mop bucket filled with a chemical that
she did not identify & assumed was just water. Buckley made a very very dangerous mistake ! She was not qualified to work with these cleaning chemicals. The mop bucket was filled with a very concentrated disenfectent, not water and was incorrect for cleaning vomit from carpet. It is very dangerous to use around young children often down on the carpet that now had residue of this chemical that the children could ingest.

Buckley used a mop on carpet to draw up the vomit then tried to soak it up with chemical saturated sawdust used only for sweeping.
She mixed two chemicals which could have formed a toxic fume. She told Fisher that she thought it was just sawdust! She was playing Russian Roulette with the children's safety. Then she tried to vacuum the liquid up with a vacuum set up for dry vacuumimg only! Again she had no idea what she was doing, ran the risk of ruining a $400 vacuum and further spilled the vomit along the hall.

At a time teachers are asking for classroom size to be reduced,
here is a principal with time on her hands, setting a very poor example for the teachers, that they could clean their own rooms. Buckley used very poor judgement as the vomit could have been contained until a custodian was available or one could have been summoned from the school next door. Buckley displayed a disrespect for the support worker's Collective Agreement and compromised children health and safety. In her response to the Board she is hiding  some of the dangerous details & deceiving the School Board !
As the on-site custodian supervisor, Principal Buckley is obligated to know about the body fluid pick up kits. That she does not know is proof of her inadequate training and of her attitude that it's no big deal. Worker safety is being compromised.
Buckley's negligence is again exemplified here. The thick dust was permitted to spread throughout the entire main building. The smoke detector alarms had to be covered so the dust would not set them off. Buckley hd no clue & allowed the air quality to deteriorate, affecting the children breathing in dust from toxic materials being power sanded.
WCB found that SD #23 did not have proper supervision of its workers.
The Head Custodian admitted that he refused to clean the gym floors since the teachers permitted students to bring sand and mud into the gym from outside. It was suggested that a shoe wipe be acquired to cut down on the dirt. Nothing was done about the problem until much later. The gym floor was not cleaned twice a day when the Head Custodian was at work as Buckley states. The Head Custodian worked the day shift when after hour activitiy leaders complained to Custodian Fisher and he often had to clean the gym floor. The Head Custodian was notified and when it did not improve, Fisher directed the group leader to talk to the SD #23 lease person. Some times the head Custodian left the dust mop for the groups to clean the gym floors themselves. In Buckley's (Lownsbrough) Feb 25/99 (click on letter) dismissal letter to Fisher, Buckley said, "you are unable to complete regular duties (e.g. dusting, table tops, toilet bowls) & used that to fire Fisher then here used the excuse that the Head Custodian was absent and only basic cleaning was done to protect him from the fact the gym floor was not cleaned. Can Buckley hear her double standards? Buckley is misleading & lying to the reader.
Again student health and safety were being compromised by Principal Buckley.
