| Being stored in the boiler room for many years doesn't make it safe to keep the brush cleaner in such a dangerous location for children. Children have had access to the restricted entrance boiler room because the door has been left unlocked. Children have been found in the boiler room unsupervised. Fisher talked to the Principal about the danger, yet for over a year she did not relocate the brush cleaner to a safer location of which there were several. Yet Buckley lied that Fisher did not bring things to her attention in a timely manner.The Head Custodian wastes time when a student has to get him to stop work to wait with them while they clean brushes. The boiler room has extremely hot surfaces that can severly burn children's skin. Highly poisonous chemicals are stored in the room also. This is a dangerous area that children should not be in under any circumstances yet Buckley did nothing.. |
| Numerous persons have been seen to slip on the sawdust and nearly fall. The spray on static dust pick up is a more modern, safer and more efficient method to use when dusting floors. The spray-on is consistant with that used in many other SD #23 schools, yet the Head Custodian refused and delayed ordering it then constantly harassed Custodian Fisher for using the spray and wrote up a bad evaluation on Fisher because Fisher preferred the approved & safer spray. |
| Buckley lies once again, as the room was not closed nor locked! For months Principal Buckely was aware that the uncovered and unlabeled bucket of chemical was left on the 4 plex hall floor & unopened storage room yet she did nothing to protect the young children from coming in contact with it. Buckley did not have the training necessary to be an on-site custodian supervisor nor the honesty and the Head Custodian showed his incompetence with the cleaning chemicals. Upon arrival at the school, Fisher immediately labeled the open container as per WHMIS & notified the Head Custodian. Buckley lies again, as he did not immediately change his practise but made it necessary for Fisher to use a great deal of time trying to convince him to stop the use of the uncovered bucket. Fisher was given a bad report on his evaluation & was accused of being argumentative for protecting the children's health and safety. Fisher gave Buckley info on an available automatic deoderizer available but heard nothing back from her about it. Buckley's version is misleading & very dishonest. |
| Buckley was more interested in the colour of the gym and the frayed stage curtains than the slippery condition of the wooden walk to the 4 plex. She failed to see the danger in the worn off anti-slip surface. She delayed far to long to take corrective action. Buckley put the children at risk! |

| The walk blocks have been badly broken and missing pieces for months and months, yet again Buckley has not taken any action. It is not a costly or time consuming job. Buckley has been very negligent in ensuring that Westbank Elementary School is a safe environment for the students. Buckley's attitude in her above misleading & dishonest responses to Fisher's presentation to the Board of Trustees fortifies what Fisher heard Buckley state, "you (the custodians) are making a big thing out of nothing". |
